Mr Rodney Nathan, Chairman of the state chapter, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for signing into law the N30,000 new National Minimum Wage for workers, however noted that the state workers were looking forward to receiving N32,000 as minimum wage. Nathan said that the workers’ optimism was drawn from the Governor-elect, Ahmadu Fintiri’s electioneering promise to pay workers N32,000 minimum wage. The union leadership also urged the incoming administration to address some of the challenges faced by the teachers in the state. He said the new minimum wage would go a long way in improving the standards of living of a Nigerian worker. He urged workers in the state to put in their best to match the wage increase with productivity.
